I had to have vet drain and inject mine with steroids, then bought a shoe boil boot. I had rubbed liniment on it and treated it with a laser light for seven days with no success before I took her to the vet. Hers was caused by hitting a barrel. It took several months for the skin to shrink back to normal (no fluid just baggy skin) but you can't tell she ever had one now.
