Possible TMJ Issues

I know there are a multitude of symptoms that could lead to people thinking TMJ but wanted to see if this is a big sign that most people have seen in their horses.
We have owned this mare for 5 years
(she is 8 this year
). Very broke
(culled out cutter
) and will try her heart out. We have had her teeth done twice in the last year but never thought to ask about TMJ as I am just now starting to do research.
She has as this habit or whatever you want to call it of shaking her head anytime there is any pressure applied to the bit
(does it even worse in a hack
). She is/was my SO's calf horse and I have recently started working her on the pattern. It doesn't matter if you are walking in the moutains or cruising threw the pattern she will shake her head anytime you apply pressure. We have thought this was just a nasty habit she has and we will just have to deal with it.
(I know, stupid thinking
) Is this a classic sign of TMJ or is there something else we should be looking into? Also how does a vet check for this?
For all those wondering, yes this is the mare that HAD the cyst. We had her checked again last week and it has disolved. Now to figure out this problem.

Here's a good article. It's pretty easy to check the TMJ points. There is a picture of where you check these points. Be very careful so your horse doesn't hit you in the face if she reacts to this points.
