Selling foal in utero...

Interested on info from those who have done this. I had someone ask me about using my mare and was just curious what/how you charged? I am willing to do so, as I was going to see about leasing her out for breeding next year anyway. She's due to foal in April and I'd have no problem breeding her back. Just looking for info on how you went about the in utero sale. They stated they'd like to start making payments asap. I, personally, feel like I'd at least like to have a non refundable "down payment" of the cost of keeping/feeding her for the pregnancy before breeding, in case they would decide to back out. Thanks in advance!

I bought a filly in utero. I liked the sire/dam's pedigree, and messaged the seller. I paid a $500 deposit, then rest was due at the time of weaning. Mine was a bad experience due to the stallion owner
(seller was mare owner so not her fault
) and ended up with a grade baby, but was refunded money from seller. I was happy with the filly, I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. She was $1,500 in utero...$2,000 when she hit the ground
(before we knew she couldnt be registered
). Only downfall is your taking a gamble on color, sex and conformation.
