Sore horse, what to do?

We tried a new farrier last week and he trimmed all of our horses fairly well except our clubbed footed horse. He took a little too much off on his heel and our horse is still sore. We know he's sore in his ligaments and muscles because they aren't used to that kind of stretch. We've been slowly taking off heel from his clubbed foot over the years and is a lot better than he used to be but this is the first time he's ever been this sore. What can I do to make him more comfortable?

Get some RICKENS hoof paint to begin. Its really works on sore feet. My colt off the track is always sore after getting shod. I paint that on there twice a day for 4-5 days and before every run!!!
