Saddle leather
Location: Oklahoma
I'm planning on buying a new saddle in the next 6 months. I've started looking at brands and have noticed that in a lot of pictures of used saddles, the leather seems to really soak up and wear from jeans. My Martin is 14 years old and looks newer than majority of the "hardly used" barrel saddles out there. Why? Anyone noticed brands that don't do this?
I don't want to pay a pretty penny for a saddle that in 6 months is going to look more used than my old saddle will.

The jeans are super heavy with dye now adays, its not the leather its those fancy jeans with the heavy dye, and even my plan jane jeans have the heavy dye too, so I dont wear my new jeans when I ride, after they get washed 3 or 4 times then I will ride in them, but my old jeans is what I ride in so I wont stain my saddle from that nasty dye they use now adays, lol.. So dont blame the leather blame the dye in the jeans..
