Renew Gold

I have been getting some questions about the recent changes to Renew Gold. While the formulation remains exactly the same, this month we upgraded the manufacturing process to the same extrusion process used on Renew Gold Senior. There are several advantages to this process over the pelleting that was used in the past. First, while the starch contribution in Renew Gold is low, extruding it allows it to be more completely digested easier in the small intestine. In addition, extrusion eliminates almost all the fines from the bag, while still providing a pellet that goes to a meal form before it reaches the stomach. This is a vital part of how Renew Gold works, and the reason that we made such a soft pellet to begin with. Nearly one year of testing side by side with the original Renew Gold pellets showed that the switch to extruded pellets is readily accepted by the horses that are currently on the earlier version. You will see the new extruded Renew Gold starting to show up as distributor and store inventories of the previous pellet move through our distribution systems. The new pellets are in the same black bags and have a red starburst on the front of the bag that says "New Extrusion Technology". As always, if you have any questions send me a pm or give me a call.

Thanks! I switched mine from the regular back to senior since I'm starting to haul... They feel great on it as usual!
