Just saw on Facebook that Tulsa was hit by a major tornado. Hoping everyone is safe.

We are good in Inola. Went right over top of us.  All our barns, house and dorm rooms for our clients grooms in tact.  All good here, thank goodness.

The tornado hit just slightly west of downtown Tulsa - in Sand Springs & west Tulsa.  I had just left work which is extremely close to where the tornado hit, thank goodness.  People were taking cover in the basements here at work but thank the Lord it went over the top of them.  Praying over those affected in the Sand Springs area.

Also hit part of Moore, OK (just a little south of OKC), I believe.  Prayers for them as well.

I believe the good lord watches over each and everyone of us but I don't think I would ever live in Moore!!! Those poor people..... I was suppose to go to sand springs yesterday and as I was heading down 412 about 4:00 I decided I would call them and cancel and turn around. My house didn't even get a drop of rain.

I live about 5 miles NW of downtown Tulsa and it went right over us, and the tornado ended up dropping down 4 miles east of us by the Tulsa International Airport. We lost electricity about 5:30 pm and finally got it back this morning, but no damage thankfully. We are extremely lucky.

Can you even get homeowners insurance in Moore, anymore? So eerie how they keep getting hit time after time.

I feel like it's starting a lot earlier than it has in the last few years.....

We got just a little shower, but lots of wind. Only damage was to my rabbit hutch. It tore almost all the shingles off of it. Other than that, we're fine. I checked in with RockysRunning last night (she lives in Moore and lost all her horses and horse related stuff....trailer, tack, etc.) in the 2011 tornado. They did have to go in the shelter, but they and all their property (other than their flagpole which landed on the neighbor's car) is fine.

It really isn't early, the big one that hit Heston, Ks was in March 25 years ago. We had our severe weather drill a couple of weeks ago at work to prepare. I think storm season is exciting/scary. That said, I wouldn't live in Moore either! I wonder why it gets hit so often?

I just was comparing to the last couple years.... This is the time of year for them and from this point on they are only going to get bigger and stronger.

I will try to give you an educated opinion of why Moore gets hit more often. Storms tend to follow major highways due to the wind tunnel created by the traffic. If you will look at the satellite images from last night, the tornado that hit Sand Springs went right up I-44. Moore is located near the juncture of I-35 and I-40, hence they are in the paths of the storms following I-40 as well as the storms that are following I-35....so they have double the chance of getting hit.
