This shooter was right outside our walmart.  He stole a rifle and fleed the store he had a string of crimes but ended up in Marana.   Marana cops didn't waste any time with this dangerous shooter as proved by this video

Gonna take a lot of money to fix that car... A bullet would have save the car and the cost of the trials and free medical and room & board for this man.

In a way I agree, but he was heading toward the freeway.  Imagine what could have happened.

I saw this on our news station this morning -- and I saw a clip of a lady complaining about police brutality, that it needs to stop - there were better ways this could have been handled. I couldn't believe her!!!!!!!!!!

In all fairness to that lady, the FIRST clips shown on TV did NOT include the part where he was firing in the air. My first reaction to that video was "what the heck?" .....why run over him....then more of the video was shown and yes, he was armed and dangerous......just shows how the media can "play" the emotions by not showing the entire video.

First time I saw it that was the first version I saw. It really skews the perception. I really wish it was against the law for the media to report things with telling the entire truth and having done face checking, or show it live.

I think he made the right decision, why risk a shoot-out and possibly injure innocent people? Bullets can travel a long way if they miss the target and/or ricochet. It is not like he wasn't offered an easy out.

The eerie thing for me was;  that he stole the **** rifle I had my eye on for my husband.  I was looking at it the day before. He was heading toward the freeway.  Well within shooting range.  They really had to do what they did.

I would like to know how he was able to steal it? They are all under lock and key by us.

Yes, they are in a clear glass type case and they are locked.  But when I asked to see it, they allowed me to hold it and take a close look at it.   It had to be then when he took it.  How he was able to have ammo to go with it.  That's the thing I don't understand.

He probably already had the ammo or stole the ammo before he stole the gun.

When you buy a gun they walk it to the register so things like this don't happen.

I saw one video where a guy (assuming it was a wal-mart employee) drives up to one of the officers and starts telling him the gun has a trigger lock on it and there way he could fire it. The guy then shoots the gun. The cop was like, "I guess not!"

Wow.   Does anyone know what the gun was exactly?  The one I wanted was a inexpensive Savage 30 ot 6.   It had been there for awhile and the next day it was gone.  So I figured...

In the video, after the suspect shoots, you can hear a guy say, "Ok, nevermind." Then the officer says on the radio, "It's definitely unlocked now..." I was looking at videos and I guess it was the other officer's dash cam video where you can hear the citizen talking. I can't seem to find it now. The more videos I watch, the clearer the whole story is. That's the problem with the media. They edit straight to the dramatic part and everyone is left to assume what they will. I haven't heard what type of gun it was.

e.t.a.: a quick internet search says it was a 30-30... but, I don't know how accurate that may be??

I agreed with the police officer in this case. Hitting him with the car, while extreme, did stop him. The guy did appear dangerous, and it's okay to do what you got to do to stop someone. I only think it's police brutality when they beat up someone who is already subdued, or kill someone just for fleeing when they are no threat.
