Does anyone feed calf manna for a hard keeper? Thoughts?

Because the second ingredient is corn, I would not feed it.

I added it in for a little while until a purchased 2 bags in a row that had went rancid and I had to take them back... Smelled like pure ammonia. I went to rice bran and flax seed.

yup - I have fed it off and on.  LOVE it.  It is a high protein feed so adding a fat supplement for hard keepers is generally recommended.

I bought the big 50 lb bags and fed roughly a level volumetric cup of it twice a day with alfalfa when I needed to put weight and top line back onto an older mare.  Worked like a charm.

I used to feed the Calf Manna but when Manna Pro came out with the "horse only" version of it called Vitality I started using it and man, it will REALLY put some bloom on one! Awesome stuff!

Never fed it to our horses, but we used to feed it to our goats when we were breeding. Really helping keep the weight on them and made their coats looks great.

Been feeding calf manna to my broody and her colt. And lately been feeding it to my sr horse. But I know she doesn't like to eat a huge amount, and on top of her grain it is a bit much, so the vitality is something that I might look into, since you are not feeding as much of it.  I guess it is more concentrated?

The best supplement on the market, and cheap compared to all others. Good for feet, joints, hair. You name it.

I started using Manna Pro products about 8 months ago and really like the quality of ingredients and the price tag. I started adding Sho-Glo to Renew Gold and now using the Max E Glo Rice Bran instead of Nutrena Boost. The Max E Glo really has been putting weight on my senior horse and he's coat looks great!

The Vitality is ultra concentrated compared to Calf Manna and you only feed a tiny amount. Seems like those small bags are a months worth......

We feed the Horse Manna vitality. And the Max E Glo. It is nice knowing also, that they are made in an ionophore free facility.
