Location: Missouri | A few years back, 2012 I believe, there was a horse for sale that I couldn't get off my mind. He was a little more than I wanted to spend and when his price got dropped I contacted them right away. I called to make plans to go see him that weekend and just knew he was coming home with me.
WELL!...........SOMEBODY........wired the money for him before the weekend came and he was gone :(
I missed him by like 1 day! I still think about him and sure wish I knew where he went. The seller offered to give me the buyers info so I could contact them just in case he didn't work out for them, but I didn't take it. At the time I figured, well, he wasn't meant to be.
I just searched You Tube and watched old video's of him again. I googled and only found an article from 2012 that mentioned him. Wonder how he is? He was perfect in my eyes.  |

| Yes! I had a little filly that I fell in love with online. I contacted the people about her, but didn't have the funds. She sold.
This year, I bought a filly bred similar to her from the people who owned her! I ended up looking up the old filly. She's now a mounted shooting horse a state away.
Some things just aren't meant to be! But she was one who I'd have loved to have had. Makes me happy that I have something from the original breeder and bred similar. :) |

Location: Downsouth | Yes, not too long ago. A gelding that was listed on here, Royalty Struttin. I'm not sure if he sold or if the ad expired. I never saw him listed in the sold ads and I looked at him every single day.
I never contacted the owner, I was too afraid I would offer truck, trailer, house and all tack for a trade.
I still think about him.   |

Location: LA Lower Alabama | How about the opposite side...Quite a few years ago I sold a horse that I hit the 1D with a few times but family comes first, needed a car, blah blah. She left who I sold her to and went to a lady who placed sooooo many times and made it look easy. I ran across her on youtube and I cried with joy that she found a good home and held up to her worth. I wish it could have been with me but at least I KNOW she got a good home.

If you guys are not friends it puts your message in a separate folder that is hidden if they don't know about it.

They may not have ever saw your message if you are not friends. I sent the previous owner of our house a message a year and a half ago and he just responded this week. You might try to friend request with a message. |

Location: Oklahoma | I'm on the other side... I sold my once in a lifetime 10 months, 13 days ago... not that I'm counting. He went to a ranch in Southern Colorado and is being used as one of their studs to cross on their cutting bred mares. I was promised updates and to date have gotten only 2. I haven't seen a picture of him since I loaded him on the trailer to head to his new home. I had it in our bill of sale that if he were to ever come up for sale I get first shot to purchase him back and I retained one breeding to him for future use. BUT... my husband knows I would sell my family for a chance to get him back. |

Yes, I have had that happen a few times in my life it seems. The latest one was a year ago. The only reason I didn't go buy the horse was because it was too far. I would have had to fly there and then have the horse shipped and I simply didn't have the funds for all that. He was a stud colt by A streak a Fling out of a frenchmans guy dtr.
I also sold an awesome horse that I regret selling like every day.
But everything does happen for a reason. I have a wonderful stud colt that I just love now and I have a barrel horse that has lit up my world! |

| The buckskin mare I have now I saw as a weanling. I called the ranch but she had sold the week before and was just there to be halter broke and then shipped to her new home. I was heart broken. She was everything I ever wanted in the looks department. Flash forward 4 years and my sister called me from college and said she knew where she was and that she was for sale. I pulled a loan, bought her sight unseen (in 4 years anyways) and my sister brought her home on my birthday. It turned out to be the 2nd best sight unseen purchase I have ever made. |

| If I see a horse I really want, I check them out thoroughly before even thinking about buying. I saw one horse I really liked the breeding on and kept thinking that I had seen the horse for sale somewhere. ( a guy I knew had the horse for sale) The horse had been listed for sale in three states by three owners in about 6 months. All had the same sale picture. The video had the current owner trotting around in the pasture and never got in a lope. The guy is a good rider and since he never loped the horse, I think I can safely assume the horse was a bucker in a bad, bad way. The horse sold before I could call about her. The next thing I know someone on here had pictures up with their 3 year old child sitting on the horse. I think God directs most of my decisions and I ask regularly for his guidance so I don't really worry if I miss out on a sale. That is the way it was meant to be. T00 many others out there that are just as good. |

Location: Texas | I have been on the opposite side... My first born, and only, colt I raised and trained myself. (I purchased my other two as five month old colts and trained them myself, but never had one born on my place as this one was.) I cried tears of joy the morning he was born. I have so many baby pictures of him. (I don't have any children, so he was like my child.) Sold him as a coming three year old because I just didn't think I had the time or energy with my other two finished horses. Been kicking myself ever since. Got a good price for him. He got a FANTASTIC home and I keep in touch with the new owner. I have tried to buy him back almost every day since he left but she just won't give him up. She now loves him as much as I do. He is now coming five. I still want him back and would pay more than she paid for him to get him back. But don't see that happening. :( |

I've sold quite a few and always wonder about the ones I don't stay in contact with...each one brings emotions. But there's one in particular...I had a beautiful gray TB (jumping prospect) that unfortunately due to finances and life events I literally was forced to sell. It was a horrible low point in my life for a million reasons and selling him just made things worse. I cried like crazy as I loved that horse so much and never wanted to sell him. I still have his picture on my window ledge. I have no idea if he's still with the people I sold him to..that one I am too scared to even ask about as if he isn't still there it will break my heart all over again... |

Location: North Dakota | I've fallen in love with horses a few different times. Most notably a gelding that was owned by a boarder where I rode in high school. She allowed me to ride him for lessons and I freaking loved that horse. I tried to get her to sell but she knew how special he was. After a disaster with the horse I purchased afterward, I finally found Cash (who I nearly missed out on) and he's even better. This horse is the love of my life and I'm so glad everything worked out the way it did. |
