I'm waiting on my order from www.1sttofinish.com, and their Mare Mix Formula by SharpEdge Equine Supplements. Tried the Mare Magic and Silver Lining without much change. Anxious to give this a try!!

From the website: Mare Mix Formula
Aids in balancing the endocrine (pms) system. Boosts the immune system. Keeps the lower back soft so your mare can stay engaged in the hind end (keep her butt underneath her) and not have to pull in the front end (keep hear head down). Also decreases pain and inflammation. Helps with anxiety and worry. Aids in digestion. This formula will help make your mare HAPPY!

Anniemae - 2014-04-30 3:22 PM Yes, tried everything...  finally convinced my vet to culture my maiden mare and she has an infection.  Not very common, but possible.  She just got flushed, hope this is the ticket!
My good vet sews up all of his personal performance mares for exactly this reason.  He says when they are running, turning or working hard they can suck air & it will cause infection.
Yep. I had a caslick done on mine a long time ago. It can't hurt to have it done and it helps keep the area clean
It WORKED!!!  No more rubbing her sides against the rails, no more rubbing her tail/sitting on the fence, she is totally different this heat cycle!!! I can't tell you how excited I am to have found the answer for her!!!    And her tails hairs have already started to grow back - mind you they are only 3/8" long, but in a few months, we'll have a nice looking tail head again!!!

And, under saddle she WANTED to work while in season!!

I did have her ovaries US and they looked great, it was definitely the infection!
