I have done polos, and I'm sure it's my own fault for not doing them properly, but I can't run in them. I feel they are too loose and I'm petrified that they'll come undone and do more harm than good. I started using boots before I ever learned how to wrap polos, so it's probably my own fault for just being more comfortable with boots. I'm making it my mission to better learn how to wrap polos.

Everything wears bell boots when I ride, and if they're babies or doing pattern work they'll get boots all the way around during weekly workouts.

Someone once told me when I was young that if you don't put boots on the back and your horse goes to sit for a turn and burns their ankles in the dirt, they may stop sitting so hard. I just remember that every time I want to make a run, and true or not, I don't want to take the chance.

I have had a friend that his polos came undone while he was racing. Talk about scary. Now we all put black electric tape on them so they won't come off.

bells and fronts.

used to be able to put boots on the hinds but he started getting sassy about it. He tends to obsess about them and do that cute thing where he tries to bite his back legs while I'm mounted. It's not worth the effort putting them on even though I'd prefer him to wear them
