Silicone now is different from silicone in the past. Even if there is a "rupture", it doesn't leak out. It's cohesive. You can find tons of videos online of people cutting them open and squeezing. It's like a gummy bear
(there are different levels of cohesive-ness
). I think the silicone feel much more natural, and more surgeons now prefer the silicone... no sloshing around like a water balloon.
The reason you could only get saline for awhile
(in the 90s I think
) is because the OLD silicone implants did have problems if they ruptured and it ran out. The newer ones are different and much safer.

I am a charter member of the IBTC so I understand the desire to fill out sweaters and swimsuits better...but from just these couple of posts above...I sure can't think how it is worth the health risks. And assuming all goes well with the initial surgery
(risk with anesthesia etc
)...don't they also require maintenance periodically? Meaning more surgery?
Just seems scary to me.
I think these are exceptions... the vast majority have no problems, and it's a super common procedure. Come walk around at a So Cal barrel race and it's the exception to see someone without them.
