Peecans
Lots and lots of pictires.
Taken the time to groom and fancy them up. Have them stand nice, half the battle is getting a good person that can really set a horse up.
You know i had a gelding that was a PIL to get a good picture. As soon ad he'd get set he'd move and ruin it all. I used my HD video recorder recorded him for like half an hour. I then went and grabbed some good still shots from the video and got some GREAT ones, then he was sold in less than 24 hours, had him listed for some time with just so so pictures.

When Take a photo of a horse there are A LOT of pictures involved. and i can usually do it with 2 people though of course 3 would be great.
I'm usually the photographer when i do shoot my horses. and I typically kneel down when i shoot, and often move back and forth because a horse angle can look better depending upon the horse and their conformation.
Here are 2 of my horses.
the bay mare I took it from slightly behind the middle of her "barrel" The mare has a nice hip and natural shoulder.
The sorrel mare is standing a bit awkward on her front end,
( it was hard to get her to stand the way she was posed.
) I settled for this shot because she was so un willing to stand still. But in this picture you can clearly see I was
positioned near her hip to really exaggerate her hip size and roundness, as well as show her shoulder angle. B
