I just remember seeing this saddle in my Barrelhorse News magazine, its The Pocket Racer, says were the english meets Western, I'm thinking this could work for you. Β Here is their web site..... thecorrector.net check it out...Β
Those are interesting! Know anyone that rides them? I'm not sure I want an English tree western saddle and if I read it correctly, a 13" seat = 22" long saddle? So if I needed a 15.5 or 16" seat wouldn't that make a fairly long saddle or are the seat sizes different than traditional western saddles? I tried the big name synthetic on this weekend and what a fit mess. Saddle bridged so badly I could have driven a semi under it. No way to move the saddle back or forward as it was sitting on the shoulder blade and at the flank plus was a bit narrow too, which may be part of the problem. Didn't think it looked like that big of a saddle, the seat size is 15 3/4". So now I'm thinking what I need is something with an absolute minimal skirt and try to find it in a 15.5" size. I'm considering the Kelly Kaminski Blaze but it only comes in 15 or 16" so I would have to go bigger, they are lightweight at 22 lbs. I have an old (38 yrs old) Circle Y with the same type of design in a 15" seat that does fit my horse but the seat is a bit snug for me and the saddle is long past it's usefulness but horse seems okay with how it fits. Also, looking at the Charmayne James Record Breaker however, it weighs 28 lbs. seems a lot for something with hardly any skirt but does come in a 15.5". Still considering the Cashel lightweight trail saddle, again, have to bump up to a 16", they do claim it's good for short back horses, though I don't really think of mine as being all that short in the back.

No dont know anybody that rides in one. Sounds like you might need to get your horse fitted by a custom saddle maker, do you have any saddle makers in your area?

| That is a BIG negative on custom fitters or any tack shops for that matter. I'm in the middle of no where. | |
