Mine did that when he had ulcers. Treated him for them and that immediately went away. I'd treat and see if it makes a difference.

My gelding did this exact thing eventually blew up and threw himself to the ground and that's when we discovered kissing spine. He is going to need 6 places operated on. I'd suggest X-rays.
