The only even partially negative thing I found was it takes 90-120 days to get a claim paid. I don't care about that, as long as they pay like they're supposed to and I can actually afford the monthly cost.

We have it, but have not had a claim yet. However, the gal that owns Hired Gun posted just a few days ago about her experience with them--they had TWO hospital stays since the beginning of the year--and it was nothing but positive!
any idea on premiums per month and deductibles???I would love to have some examples of this.
We have the "Gold" level coverage. It's $150 "per unit". I'm a unit, my husband is a unit, and my boys are a unit. So I have 3 units for a total of $450 for our family of 4. Coverage is $125k per incident, with a $500 out of pocket per incident. There is a cap, I don't recall what off the top of my head.
The gal that has Hired Gun posted that her claim was paid within a months time, but I don't know from personal experience. A lot has to do with their work load, how quickly you receive and submit your bills, etc.
They also have a referral program where if you are listed as a referral, and your referring pays 3 months, you get a free month! I have a friend
(whom I listed as my referral
) that has gotten 3 free months now in the year and a half or so that she's been with them.

rodeoveteran - 2017-06-04 9:17 AM I would like to hear from those who HAVE had health issues and have CHCM. How much hassle has it been to negotiate with hospitals and doctors to get the insurance negotiated rates rather than the outrageous amounts that are charged without insurance. THERE to me, is the biggest contributor to the cost of medical care. I had my appendix out last year and the total charges BEFORE the insurance negotiated rate was over 50K but somehow I didn't quite reach my $7500 figure. If I HAD reached my OOP the total cost paid with my $5999 deductible and the 80/ paid for the next $2500, the total actually paid for the procedure was $17500..... a far cry from over 50K.
We just got on it 1st week of Dec 2017. We couldn't afford the $15,000 deductible to keep our insurance under $800 a month for a healthy, young family of 4 with BCBS. 2nd week of Dec my son was diagnosed with absence seizures. I called the Healthshare and asked if they would pay
(it will be applied to our $1500 deductible
) and they sounded like it would be covered. We just got the bill from the hospitial and the eeg was $1200, misc Dr bills $300. My worry is it will probably go on last uears deductible...and when he has to have another eeg done in June, that will be a new deductible for us. Either way, we have been very happy with them. I hear they take a long time to pay and sometimes the hospitals get to nagging for payment. We are the type that pay all bills asap so it kind of makes us nervous. We pay $450 for our family btw. It's the top level-Liberty Complete with a million or so coverage.
