I tried it and personally I wouldn't do it again. It's not cheap and doesn't look that great. Maybe for a turn in shed but not as your main barn. I made that mistake and we're having to do modifications to make it work. We paid $8k for a 36x36 that is only covered on top and the front. We tried to make like a open air barn and for $4k more i coulda had a real, made for horses, open air barn that woulda looked much better. So my advice is stick to something was designed for horses if it's going to be your main barn. It might cost a little more you'll be way happier in the long run.

I am beginning to think it might be better to just build a pole barn and complete it as I get the money...  Thanks everyone.

Have an 18'x21' from coast-to-coast carports that we had installed on plain ground (no concrete) in either 1997 or 1998.  We've used it as a stall and as a run-in shed...put up corral panels & tarps for "walls" in the winter time to provide a wind break.  I'm in west-central Arkansas and it's survived 80mph winds (measured at the airport adjoining the pasture) with nary a scratch (tarps haven't been so lucky lol).  It was a god-send when my then-2yo tried to cut her hind leg off and was on stall confinement for 6 weeks...that said if I had my own place I would far rather build a permanent barn.  But I lease this pasture & could theoretically be kicked out with only a moment's notice...so I make do with cheaper, less permanent structures that can be moved if I have to move.  Here's a pic that kinda shows part of the shelter (pardon the photo-bomb lol):
