Whiteboy - 2015-02-23 2:12 PM Interesting thing about Woodbridge.  There has been no Woodbridges in any major Barrel horses sale last year or this year so far.  However they have been pretty successful in the race sales averaging $11,796 over the last 8 years and in 2014 they averaged $20,641.  That in my opinon is a pretty good average for a $2500 breed fee.  That certain exceeds the 3 or 4 times the stud fee rule.
yep.
My question would be to the people who are suggesting he has wobblers, wouldn't they have put him down by now?  Most genetic wobblers have to be put down by 2-3yrs old.  You can't tell me they can collect semen on a horse with wobblers.

MoliB - I LOVE watching that mare of yours run.  I have a daughter of FWF that I think would cross excellent on him.  I would breed to him in a heartbeat.

The genetic kind probably, the injury kind most likely would depend on the extent of the injury and how well they can maintain it.

Right, and thats why I wouldn't worry about him producing babies with wobblers!

teed - 2015-02-23 10:01 AM Honestly-I'm sorry I even asked the question! Did not know it was posted a year ago-Think I'll just tend to my own knitting as I've always done. I truly wish I could just delete my question.....and this whole post!

LOL you must be kind of new (I mean that in a good way), don't let it bother you. No one likes their favorite stallion discussed in any negative way and the truth is, anyone could find something negative about every stallion out there. Shrug it off.  If you like him, I think there is a good market for him. Search button is handy for previous topics, but you sometimes get new opinons/views. Feeds would be a big one as everyone was on the ADM bandwagon not long ago and now, not so much.

Did'nt know my question would raise such a discussion:) I asked because you just don't see many of his colts out there running and was wondering why-then this wobblers thing came up and I thought-well, maybe that's why you don't see hardly any out there running-I have a very good bred mare and I try to breed her to something that will make a top colt (so far so good) they've all been 1 D horses. I don't get around that much to hear/get all the updated info, so I thought I would ask the question on here-whoa...not sure I'll do that again. I do kinda like the Lanes Liensters but will be darned if I'll ask about them..LOL

nah, it's winter and we don't have anything better to do than pick at each other like a bunch of bloody chickens. I think LL was a horse that stood most of his career in the UT area. May be wrong there, but I think that is one reason he was crossed so often with DTF. He's one I don't think was exactly the magic cross with DTF, but because that cross was done so many times and with DTF being the sire he was, you were bound to get a lot of winners.  I have heard LL are hot and have a lot of run. Never been around one myself, just hearsay.

There have been more equistat money earners resulting from that cross than from any other barrel horse cross.  Not saying that it isn't just a number game or luck, but if I had a LL mare, I can guarantee you I know exactly who I'm breeding her to!
