I love the older bloodlines. They were truly form to function horses.

I can't think of any barrel horses off the top of my head, but I don't think that is any fault of their own... I think they just haven't had the chance yet to prove themselves other than in the roping, because they are so sought out for that discipline. I would not be scared to take a chance on him in the barrel pen. You've crossed some very good speed with lines that are known to be athletic and gritty as all get out. Sounds like a winner to me. I'll never forget reading an interview a couple years ago, where Sid Miller said he keeps Pearl in shape by using her to work the arena. Wow, she is almost 20 and won millions in the calf roping and you use her to drag the arena! Holy cow, she must be one tough ole girl!

Spacecowboy, I haven't heard that. That's interesting to that they have that much grit. I think we will rope on him a little then let my daughter pattern him and see what happens

I trained a mare named Frenchmans Kaycee and she was Pa Jones, Frenchmans Guy and I hated her. She never wanted to do much of anything...had all the ability but just didn't WANT to. My friend Mary Carter ran a Pa Jones stud years and years ago named Tate and he was waaaaaaaaay nice. I might have just got a dud. I know people really liked horses bred that way.
