If I remember correctly, it was about $800. The actual injections weren't that expensive but we did contrast and a ton of x-rays to make sure the lower
(non motion
) joints were not communicating with the upper hock joint.

It has been four months since she ran him, and I forgot he went left.
This is eight days post fusion.

Oh wow, that's incredible. I never would have wanted to make my gelding work through it and the vet wanted voluntary movement only. Glad it's going ok.
We were told to ride him, hard...
That exercise would keep him from being as sore. I would have not trusted any other vet in the world to do this and was still nervous. I am grateful it seemed to give the horse such immediate pain relief. He had been sore for so long. Rest, injections and so on just weren't working. Despite being sore, he was still trying for my kid. I don't know that this is a magic fix, or the complete fix, but I have no regrets. For those who asked about costs, I don't know. I just know what the total bill was and we had a lot done that day. We originally went to try Tildren, but vet said this was cheaper and more proven to work.

Which vet did you guys in TX use?
Approximate cost?
I will be doing this for one of my horses in January and trying to figure out which vet would be best.
Thanks

I'm glad this was brought back around. I have a mare that will be fused this way in her coffin joint in the spring. She's in a lot of pain now, but due to her being in foal, the vet wanted to wait. She will wear a cast of sorts for 8 months to hold that joint in one place.
