I adore my Double J Lynn McKenzie saddles. I am saving for a new Special with all the tricks.
I have a custom ordered Coats that has a fantastic look and feel. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Coats is about 6 months out on orders.

I really love my old barrel saddles and no amount of money would make me try a new one.
New ones are much prettier, but why change what works and fits?

Looks like you gals loaded a train full of Caldwells. I would add to it. I'm needing a Rocket in my collection. I hope to get fitted for a Roohide at the little function in FT Worth the first week in Dec.

Stoney, Coats, or Double J in that order. I really like my Double J but it doesn't feel as quality as a Stoney or Coats.

Your right, it doesn't feel the same quality because it's actually a assembly line saddle and made cheap, all the other saddles mentioned above are hands down better quality

I love love my Caldwell, love how soft the leather is, Maybe later on down the road I just might get another Caldwell. I have 3 Double J's and really like them . I like how my Double J's fit my horses too, I really like the one with the #10 tree, fits my gelding really nice that has more of a dip behind his withers.

I have owned and ridden A LOT of saddles but when I tried my first Caldwell I was in love!  I sold all of my saddles and bought two Caldwells and would never go back to any other brand.  I had ridden in a Josey Ultimate and not only did I not sit well in it it sored two of my horses' backs.  I didn't love my Camarillo but I liked a Coats that I tried of my friend's but I still go back to Caldwell hands down.
