Location: North Central Iowa Land of white frozen grass | Here in Iowa its the type of workers that are atracked to these kind of jobs. I have a chicken processing plant right across the street from my grain elevator that I manage. The workers there the most disgustful people that I have known. The amount of garbage that they throw on the ground is just disgusting. I wonder what their houses look like and their yards. |

I doubt that is true, Muslims do not eat pork and will not touch it. |

Location: Alabama | I would worry if it was a paper mill since I used to live near one of those and you could smell it for MILES. I drive by a chicken plant daily and hardly notice anything. Like another poster said, I just hate being stuck behind those sad trucks. |

Here in Arkansas there are numerous Chicken houses, processing plants, and a Paper mill. When the wind is from the right direction near those areas...you can sure smell it. But thankfully here folks are not yet so far removed from where their food comes from. When they are asked about the smell they will often say: "Smells like money"
To me, in our area of AR, the worst smells are the paper mills and chicken poop when they fertilize the fields near us--!Lordy, Lordy, Lordy!!!! Granted, I have no experience with slaughter houses. . . . |
