Thrush med needs to be put on the entire foot. Keep it off the skin though.

Several of mine have wet weather foot issues. One has scratches as bad as I have ever seen and have no hope of clearing it up until it stops raining around here. Seven plus inches of rain plus some snow has made more mud than I have ever seen. You're just gonna have foot issues.

So this morning is 48 hours since the lameness started. No change with abscess treatment. I'm thinking I'm going to stop that and start treating for thrush. The rain caused atrocious mud here. I have him in the barn now but still. He does have a small amount of thrush in his back feet so that might be my culprit but he also has an old, already blown out and healed closed abscess in the opposit front foot. Ugh :/

So I'm thinking Epsom salt soak and betadine/iodine cotton balls in his frogs tonight. He never reacted to hoof testers... My other thought was the recommended betadine/ sugar combination. Betadine was said to treat thrush and the mix with sugar to pull abscesses so the bet/sugar mix plus cotton balls in the frog on the lame foot and just cotton balls on the others just cuz?

If treating for thrush you need

Coppertox
ThrushX
Thrushbuster

They are all basically the same so choose one. Have used them all and usually get Coppertox. Get whatever is at your TSC. They are open on Sundays.

Great idea.  Some of the standard thrush meds can cause the sole to harden which is bad news if you do have an abcess.

I have never heard of using betadine for thrush, or for abscesses.

Iodine is different then betadine, and it is used for abscesses and thrush.

Also if it is muddy and wet, septic laminitis is a big possibility, you may want to xray the feet to make sure there is no coffin bone rotation or any inflammation in the lamania
