Anyone have any experience with them shipping a custom bit?  I orded the bit on May 8th and was told it would be about 2 weeks.  I waited about 4 weeks before I called again and she told me that she had just seen a bit with the copper rings ( like mine is to have ) come thru and that I should get it in a few days...  I remember thinking "I don't think they've even charged my account yet" and the next morning when I logged onto to my bank account there was a charge from L&W.  This was on June 9th.  I still have not gotten my items.  I hate to call again and be annoying, but I'm really needing the bit and other items I ordered.

Do they ship UPS/FedEx or USPS?  I hate to make the trip into town everyday just to check my mail, but I have been hoping to have my package.  Anyone else had this wait time?  I understand that a custom bit is obviously going to take longer than something already in stock, but just how long does it normally take?

im not much help but my cousin had the same issue with it taking WAY longer than 2 weeks. not sure if she ever got it. I think she actually called them and cancelled it because it had been too long.

Call Gina back. She is normally very very helpful and easy to talk to. There might have been a shipping issue. I have never had them ship anything because I live very close to them but I am sure she will get you an answer.

I'll not order from them again. Ordered three things, received one, it was the wrong thing, that was after it took over two weeks after my payment was pulled. It showed up in a priority box that had been overnighted after I called looking for my order. Called, left message about the messed up order, never was called back. I gave up and called it a sour experience.

I have never received an item from them in less than a month. A friend of mine waited two months for a simple snaffle. I know they produce quality work and have many customers, but their wait times have always been a bit absurd from my experience. Great people to talk to, though. I would probably call again to double check there wasn't a shipping issue.

I have heard many, many stories about ridiculous wait times for orders from there.

They are my favorite bit makers, quality work that definitely retains its value, but their customer service has really gone downhill over the past couple of years.

I would stay on them about your order until you receive it.

Well, I just called and their voicemail says they're at the AAY & Florida State Finals and will return on 06/23/14

Anyone know how long it takes for Shallow Creek to make a custom?

Get in touch with them I know with my order it was during a very serious family member illness....maybe they are still dealing with that??  Email, call leave a message, whatever, I get the feeling they are only a couple people show and IMO that makes things harder when you're trying to please the masses (especially us barrel racers who wanted their stuff yesterday:)  Don't take that wrong it was said in good fun!

This is a bad time of year to order from them.  I ordered the same time last year and it took over a month because they are out of town for All American Youth.

Thanks, everyone.  I left a voicemail, but I'll go ahead and leave an e-mail.  My very first contact with them was with an e-mail and they responded right away.  I left them a voicemail once before (when I wanted to order), but never got a call back.  Hopefully e-mail works better (I know it does for me in my line of work!).

It's been a few years since I've ordered from them and also had problems with EXTREMELY slow service. I stopped ordering from them as well and have been buying from Shallow Creek or finding L&W bits used for sale.

I'd call and verify again. I ordered one once that took over a month due to their show schedule. But they did not charge my card until it was shipped.

I will NEVER order from them again. I ordered a bit, 2 months later I received a package from them (they said it was busy season) and it was the wrong bit. I returned the bit and emailed them immediately, asking for a refund since I didn't want to wait another couple of months. They said it was my fault I wasn't clear with my bit selection (not sure why I would intentionally order the wrong one). It took 6 weeks to get a refund! I had to threaten them with fraud until they finally returned my money.

I order from Shallow Creek now. They have been awesome. Receive the bits in 2 days and never have had an issue.

Ditto for me too. Have heard same things and hardly ever order from them anymore because it takes WAY too long.

I got the run around for 6 weeks before I finally got LIVID and canceled my order. They would tell me they'd ship it tomorrow then id never see it. Irritating.
