We have man and his wife in our church that are on their way to Africa right now. He feels that it is his duty to go and take supplies to a group of people he has been seeing need it.
Well the majority of the members of our church are going to quarantine ourselves from going to church when he and his wife get back. He has made the comment that he feels safer over there than here. Stupid stupid man. I know the church I will be going to, it is really nice but I haven't been going to this church for that long and I sure am going to miss my pastor. I keep hoping they will not allow him back at the church but I really doubt that will happen. I understand where you are coming from, with what you have been threw in the last couple of years I would be very careful also. This couple needs to quarantine themselves for a few weeks befor coming into contact with anyone, maybe they should just make a video of themselves while over there and then mail it to the church so others can see it. They need to be thinking about family and friends. Prayers that they do the right thing The video has already been suggested but he wants to do it in person.
I just wanted to say I love your new avatar picture. LOL.
Sure, because what he "wants" and "feels" trumps the lives of others. People like this are selfish douchebags. Nothing Christian about deliberately putting others in danger of their very lives because they are so high on their "goodness" and simply MUST shout it out in public. Pretty sure Jesus would be against that. |

You have a selfish pastor.
It sounds like he is going over so he can come back and gloat.
A good pastor wouldn't care to tell his accomplishments to his following, but yours wants to share what he accomplished over there why?
My guess is he wants praise from his followers, he wants to increase his status in his community, and he will get this by sharing his accomplishments with the church. |

Did I read this wrong?? Is it the pastor that's going? Or just some people from the church and she will miss the pastor because she will be boycotting when they come back? |

I dont think its the Pastor thats going its another couple and I agree sounds like they want a pat on the back, which is great of them going over there to help out, but lets think about what they have at home and take care of business like keeping them selfs quarantine for a few weeks to keep others safe, |

No it is not my pastor that is going. It is a member of the congregation and his wife. I can't type long enough to tell you the story of how selfish just the wife is..........what amazes me is his statment that he feels safer in Africa than here. How many cases do they have in Africa and how many do we have here (so far.) I have finally found a pastor that I really love and now I am going to have to go somewhere else for a while till we see how things work out. It is hard moving to a new community and finding a church you feel comfortable in. I wish the pastor could have talked him into staying but it wasn't going to happen. |
