We have an older sleep number...maybe 6 years old or 7. It took me a long while to get use to, but I do like it now. The only issues we have with it is that air chambers have worn out on the seams and we have had to patch both air chambers several times. :(

No hated it. Had to be the most uncomfortable bed I have ever had. Couldn't wait to go back to a regular mattress.

Bought a P5 about 6 wks ago.  I'm not in love with it yet, but I don't hate it either.  At this point I'm not sure it was worth the money it cost, but they tell me I have to give it 90 days to try it before I can make any decisions on sending it back.  So I'm hoping soon, I start to LOVE it.

We have one. My husband loves it and I hate it. I have like 4" of foam piled on top of my side so I can't feel the air chamber. It makes my back hurt badly every single night. No matter what they say, you are NOT supposed to be aligned in the way that bed makes you be! Go get an air mattress if you are thinking about sleep number. I actually like cheap camping air mattresses MUCH more.

Sounds like you love them or hate them. I like a very firm mattress and my hubby likes his not so firm. That is why we are looking at the sleep by numbers.

I agree- people either love them or hate them. My husband and I are looking into them right now as well. I find that there are so many styles and options that its hard to get a simple "yes" or "no". I will say that I have seen the cheaper styles in person at homes and I am not impressed. My thinking is, if we are going to go this route we will be spending a big chunk of change to get a higher end model vs spending $1000 on the cheapest version they have.

Memory foam matresses come in plush or firm or half and half. I bought a cheap menory foam plush and i sleep by myself. It was still too firm and bought a 3 inch topper. Sometime this summer i will buy a more expensive bed and putmthis in, y trailer as i bought this used and have a pillow top and expesive one and it kills my back, put what i sleep in the trqiler and buy a better on for me.

I agree the cheaper models are crap, we didn't even try the very high end models. They were more money then we wanted spend.

The thing with the sleep number beds is that the cheapest model they make is the same thing as the expensive kind. The only difference is how much foam they stick on top. And the kinds of foam. So basically its like an air mattress with a remote and a tempurpedic.
