Needing advice on which truck to buy/ gas or diesel/older or newer model
I will be pulling a 33 ft bumper pull travel trailer, a 2 horse bumper pull horse trailer and a 30 ft 2 horse living quarter horse trailer. I will be pulling a lot during the summer months and in mountain areas and windy areas. Thanks in advance

I would go diesel, and a 1 ton, 33 foot bumper pull half of the weight will be on the truck.
Gooseneck they say 25 percent of weight is on the truck, I say closer to 30 percent.
If you live in the mountains then you need the power.
New versus old there are pros and cons to both, if you can buy new I would go that way then you have the warranty

For me, I decided on a used 3/4 ton gas truck. But, it's all flat land down here and I don't pull a trailer very much or for very long distances. I pull a three horse bumper pull with a front tack. The 3/4 ton is plenty of truck for what I'm pulling right now. The purchase price of the truck was way less than a diesel, but I spend a lot more on fuel when I do pull with it. A diesel will get better fuel mileage, but the truck will cost you more. When I am ready to upgrade, I will be getting a one ton diesel. Only reason I haven't done it yet is that I don't want a big truck payment right now.
