Northern Calif- what to expect this month

I'm going to be in the Red Bluff and Corning area for the next 2 weeks. I've checked the weather. Dry with high in 90's and lows in 60's
We will be there at a big dog competition
Obviously it's going to be hot and dry- but any bugs/snakes/weeds I need to be cautious of?
Glad I have my PHT blankets for the dogs as they also have cooling properties. Not impressed to see the 90s, but the dry weather is good!

Supposed to stay dry...maybe a little bump in temp I saw up to the upper 90's but then back down into the low 90's. I'm in Red Bluff, on the west side, I know our neighbor has killed 9 rattlesnakes this year. Thankfully we haven't had any, we are about 1/2 mile down the road from them but they believe part of the reason they are having the big snake issue is that a few years ago they brought in some big rocks to shore up their hillside near the creek. They think the snakes are living and breeding down in there.
We have had a few days of North wind here also, which dries things out even more and heats us up also. Lots of burrs and star thistle as well as poison oak. First two are a pest, the third one will get on the dogs and can transfer to you via their coats. Gives you a nasty rash.
If you end up needing anything let me know,I'm only 20 minutes north of Corning, work next door to a vet clinic who is very good with dogs by the way if anything does arise. Also, if you want a really good meal one night there is a fantastic place in Orland which is about 15 minutes south of Corning called Farwoods. Excellent!

Thank you! I would love the vets name- never can be too prepared on that end!
