Keeping things in perspective...
Go For It!
Location: Texas
Thought I would share this post from our facebook page...
As we get ready for another weekend of barrel racing, let's remember to keep things in perspective. There was a time in my life when I allowed my barrel racing to rule my emotions. If I had a good weekend, then I was on cloud nine. If I had a bad weekend, Lord help anyone in the general vicinity! You always knew how the weekend went when I walked in the door.
Over the years I have certainly mellowed... Or have I? Maybe I just have a better perspective of things these days. I had a friend ask me if I was still "on cloud nine" about doing well at Diamonds and Dirt... I told her I was really glad that I did well, and it is certainly a blessing, but I don't know that I was ever actually all that excited. Here is the good part about that... I don't ever get too high when I do well, but I don't ever get too low when it goes south either. My happiness is not based on my ability to excel in the arena. This is not who we are it is simply what we do. Keeping it in perspective allows us to enjoy it even when it doesn't go our way. Have a blessed week/weekend everyone!

So true.... Staying off the barrel horse carousel is tough for me, but I'm working on it!
