I just purchased a wide pozzi for my mare because the standard that I was riding her in was too tight on her shoulders (it perched up in the front and could hardly slide my hand under the front when the saddle was sat on her back). I've put the wide on her and it sits level on her back and flat, ran my hand under the bars and don't feel any tight/pinching spots. But, I've rode her in 5 different pads (ranging from 1/2 - 1 1/8") and I get the same palm sized dry spot on her shoulders every time. There is no ruffled up hair, and she doesn't seem to be in any discomfort. Could the dry spots be due to saddle fit issues in the past damaging the nerves in that area? I don't think they're small enough to worry about, but maybe I should?

I had the same problem with my colt last year with my Pozzi saddles. He grew out of the standard and the wide wasn't fitting him either.. both saddles were the wrong bar angle.... They were too steep. Do you have any pictures of the wide on your horse? Front view?

I was always told palm of your hand sized or bigger is fine. Just don't want small OR ruffed up hair. Some horses have dry spots no matter what you ride them in. Lol dry spots are a sign of to much AND to little pressure. Go figure.
