Has anybody compared the two as far as what is the best for shock absorption? I am in the market for a pad that can be shimmed to help with seasonal fitness changes. My local shop is clearancing out all of their Thinline pads at a good price, but the reason is they said they are convinced that the Toklat Matrix T3 pads are far superior in quality and shock absorption than the Thinline ones. They had me put my hand on a hard surface, pad on top, and then applied pressure. I can't honestly say I noticed much a difference between the two. They offered me a discount on the Toklat to help with the higher price, but I am feeling a bit unsure. Obviously it is in their best interest to sell me the more expensive pad.
Toklat Matrix pads! That's all I use on my horses! Lightweight/ breathable and great protection and compression relief! I don't use the shimmable ones just the regular T3's! I will never use anything else on my horses!
I love my matrix t3. My sensitive mare with the beginning of some kissing spine issues is very comfortable in it & I've had it well over a year. It has held up well. I prefer it to my saddleright and I really like my saddleright.
