I am going to get a back cinch, however I am not sure what width? Isn't 3 inches standard? I guess it just sounds kind wide. I don't what it to be big and bulky. 

I personally prefer them to be about 2", but I wouldn't go any narrower than that.

I prefer 3".  More coverage less chance of it biting so to speak.
