They think exhibitions are to raise money and you are out there playing. Just roll with the flow or don't go back. There is a group around here that does not know how to figure out the 4 divisions. The actually called the police on a friend who tried to show them. This is one of those Cowboy Churches and I do not think one person has been to a 4D barrel race. i went to an open show once with exhibition barrels and a 4D jackpot afterward. They could not get over that exhibitions you could circle the barrel multiple times, or go to the fence and go around to take your second exhibition. They kept no timing us!

I got yelled at for excessive training over the loudspeaker for going around the second barrel three times during an exhibition. I was going fast enough to be well under the 60 seconds so I thought I was fine correcting my mare that was spooking at the banners on the fence, guess I was wrong, lol.

Location: where ever my L/Q trl is parked | Seems like all areas have different rules and ways to run their show/exhibitions.
In Ariz at a race everyone lined up outside the gate with a ticket(s) showing you paid and you went as soon as the person in front of you finished. That I hated cause you stood there with your horse getting cold, instead of your horse being warmed up. In fact NBHA Vegas does that unless they changed. Another race I attended in Nevada we were given an actually time to exhibit- that was really nice. Since we're discussing this -- I'm not a fan of really loud loud music- especially rap. In fact what does rap have to do with horses? I like music, but I would like to hear my time afterwards. |

Location: In The Snow, AZ | The last race I attended, I bought 5 exhibition runs. Hadn't been to a race in a while, so I wanted to brush up and make sure Cash was going to cooperate. The arena had a "large" attendance of about 45 people. They called out over the intercom that exhibitions were going too end early instead of alotting the full 1-1/2 hours. So, of course, everyone lines up. When I got up to the gate, I was informed we are only allowed to do one at a time and get back in line. The more "well-knowns" were able to go as many times as they needed. I, on the other hand, got 2 exhibitions in before they ended. Many people didn't get to use their practice. And nobody was offered money back. Probably won't be going back...
I think for a lot of arenas, they change things as it suits them. Unfortunately, we're the ones that pay. |

This is where my mouth gets out of hand. I start out nice and then it goes downhill from there depending if I feel like I'm getting jerked around. I never go back to this type of scenario, but by golly everyone there is going to know why!! |

| You paid for arena time..... and you should get that time by yourself. There are alot of trainers in my area and they pay for 3-5 time onlys. I dont mind that but I do hate it when they decide to bring up their colts 5 mins before the time onlys close and they spend the next 15 mins in the arena. Some races will carry over time onlys after the race and others will allow time onlys to continue till its done. |

| I saw something interesting a couple of years ago. Exhibitions were over and they had ran a couple of youth classes. Along comes the open and a woman comes in and trots and schools on the barrels. She comes out and goes about half way down the alley. They call out her name and she comes in running. No one else did that so I don't know if all would have been allowed or not but I kindof doubt it. |
