This is just what I see.
The paint horse does run into the first slightly harder, then the black horse beats him leaving the turn. I think the black horse was faster, but yet more correct going into the 2nd barrel, where it looks like the paint horse shouldered just a tad, making it appear that he started his turn faster, but I think it was just earlier. The shouldering caused the paint to make up his room for the turn on the backside of 2, putting him slightly behind again. Black horse finished 2 snappier, therfore getting out of the turn faster. Looks like paint shoulders worse at the third, forcing the rider to push him past it to keep from hitting it. Then, paint is starting his run home from a farther distance and is clearly not as fast as the black horse as the distance between them grows. |

You better get some video!!! That is a pretty cool illustration! |

Location: Running barrels or watching nascar | This is Dartfish. I have been using it this summer. The app I have, you can't compare runs like you can this and I don't know if I'd want to. Tanner Time made me feel like a stick in the mud because of the results it gave me. Nothing against them but I think I'd rather see it on tape not a bunch of numbers. I wish could sync the runs together but I think I'd want to do it with both of my horses.
Anyways, I'm a NASCAR fan and know some people in that sport. For example, they use it to figure out where they are losing time on the track or where their cars get tight/loose etc. I was watching a show on NBC about how they use it, and got thinking, Dartfish needs to be used in the horse world. It's already used in other stick and ball sports as well. I contacted them through twitter and they suggested the app Dartfish Express. I wish I could do the comparing thing but it's a little more complicated than that. Still learning. HOwever, the app does more than just a video camera or a phone camera. You actually can slow motion your runs and it's a lot easier to rewind/ff as well. There is also a telestrator feature like they have during sports on TV! That's what I've been using to video instead of a regular camera this year. So that's kinda how I got started with Dartfish! |
