komet. - 2015-03-31 9:51 PM This is the annual float trip on the Jack's Fork river back home... We used to go this early because it's a very popular river when it's warm... Not so many folks out there in March.. I really miss this river.
Is this at Eminence?Â
Yes it is... They have several trail rides there every year... Lots of barns right down on the river. |

Location: Gainesville, TX | Our front yard. You can see where we've had all the mud and rain from the horses stomping back and forth.

And my undisturbed backyard. Much prettier.

Wow!!! Great for you!!! If you can handle that river, I recommend a float on the upper Currant River... These are all part of the Ozark National Scenic River-Ways.... the float from Baptist Camp down to Acres Ferry is THE BEST!!! It might look like a long way but you move pretty fast.. Not hard to do 18 miles in less than 7 hours....

I'll bet it is so beautiful there. 7 hours on a river and I would be burnt to a cwisp! Many moons ago we would float down the Guadalupe, and some other rivers in Texas, with our church group and we all paid for it the next few days in the form of the worst sunburn in the history of sunburns. I swear we were floating 10 miles from the sun. Of course I pay for it big time at the dermatologist these days. There was no sunscreen in those days. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Spring LOL What is that? In WY we have winter and summer. 22 tonight and 53 tomorrow which is pretty nice, but still too cold to get much growing. No moisture which is actually very badly needed right now so the green is slow slow coming. We get as pretty as we get in May/June pending moisture and we are also in short grass country with black root that gets about 4" tall. Very nutricious, but they also have to work for it. These are a couple pictures from last summer and the one before. Both were good growing yrs for this dry part of WY.

it is.......Unbelievable there.. Before I floated the Jacks Fork I did floats on the upper and middle Gasconade (Gas_Can-Ade) The Upper and lower Big Piney and the entire Little Piney...(.. Fastest water in the state) Rivers.. The Upper Meramec and the upper Currant River... I was expecting to be unimpressed.... I was wrong!!
Oh yes... something to keep in mind.. you have the sun coming down at you.. then reflecting back at you... will give you a good tan... This water is clean enough to drink out of in most places......
A link I would like to pass along to anyone wanting to explore Missouri...
