HotbearLVR - 2014-01-30 11:20 PM OK, I got it....just checking!  I do think the GOP is infested with too many moderates who are only interested in conservatism when it serves to preserve their oplitical career and the kushy benefits and perks.  It is possible to cull out some solid conservatives and libertarians from the bunch, but even some of them leave me scratching my head sometimes.  The GOP ought to be aggressive and they need to promote the real conservative agenda.  Nothing is more troublesome to me than hypocrisy, especially when it comes from a so-called conservative politician.  What frosts my ass is the politician who promises to fight to the death for lower taxes- and then turns around to vote for the very spending projects that make tax cuts impossible.  The GOP is full of these pigs.  Because of these things I am not a Republican, but I'm stuck with the current bunch, which is still a helluva lot better than any liberal-progressive.

All of that aside, at least there are conservatives out here amongst the citizens who hold steadfast in their conservative principles.  We are unafraid to openly and harshly criticize any Republican when he/she deserves it.  You rarely see that coming from the left....they all march in lock step behind their liberal leaders.  I consider that a sign of a lack of intellect, independent thinking, and pride.

^ I agree with you 100% on this.

I'm a college student and the liberal influence there is crazy. Crazy, I tell you. It is scary being there and seeing "educated" people who are so clueless about so many things and parrot what has been fed to them.

Why do you think that during slavery white people didn't want blacks to learn to read/write and educate themselves?? Because knowledge is POWER! If you can keep people uneducated they can be tricked into believing anything and the government KNOWS this. They also LOVE to keep people dependant on them for food, housing etc because that is how they get their power. People don't realize this and it is KILLING our Country. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is free, there is someone paying for it PERIOD! And the money that the government spends carelessly is OUR money.. It bugs me that people throw such a fit about people sucking money from being on welfare but that is only a FRACTION of the money that we give... the LARGER half is going to fund the RICH people who blow through the PEOPLES money because oh well... it's an endless flow and there will always be more.... You are always more careful with YOUR OWN money and it's not THEIR money so they just don't care.

The education system in general is liberal. Makes me crazy as a secondary teacher and biggest reason I do not belong to a teachers union. My major in college was in the Natural Resources college, wow...talk about a person out of place! I ended up making great friends there but it wasn't easy.

luvropin - 2014-01-30 5:33 PM More people need to be angry about what is going on in this country! The citizens need to protect our constitution...because our government sure isn't going to. Listening to Randy Lewis's response to the state of the union speech. I feel just as frustrated as he does about what is happening to America.
I feel that the majority of Americans want the same things and could operate as one. Unfortunately, the extremist Republicans and Democrats have a stranglehold on this country and on the people who could actually DO something. Alllll part of the plan, you see. Keep those sheeple voting and surpress good ideas and hard working people by convincing them that there are only two sides. I think a lot of Americans (myself included) feel that perverbial gun barrel to the head...."Republican or Democrat/Red or Blue/Conservative or Liberal". There is no other choice, apparently. Now it seems that working together is cliche, compromising is for pansies, and finding reasonable solutions for ever pressing issues is for squares. I know, I know, pat my head, give my a lollipop, and tell me to go play with my toys.

We call ourselves all kinds of things. We're driving a wedge the size of Antarctica right down the middle of our country. Dem/Repub...Red/Blue....Liberal/Conservative....how about AMERICAN for ONCE.
Who do you consider an "extremist Republican" and why?
Wait a minute. You yourself have said that the Republican party needs work. I wasn't using "extremist" in reference to the video (I agreed with what was being said). I was using it in general terms. Perhaps this was the wrong thread to vent about my disdain for the never ending mudslinging contest that is Republican vs. Democrat politics. LOL You cannot sit there and tell me that the Republican party is all rainbows and butterflies and free of any kind of corruption. To me, an extremist is someone who is only looking out for himself and his "special" interests. It is someone who doesn't give a crap about anyone else. It happens on both sides. Do you disagree with that? Are there not slimeballs in the Republican party? I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm just curious. In short, I do NOT believe that someone who is Pro God, Pro Life, Pro Guns, etc is an extremist if that's what you were asking or implying.

I would say that an extremist is anyone who veers, either direction, from our Constitution.  Which is weird when people call the Tea Party extreme?!  Lol...it's just what we're told, too many people don't think through issues on there own.

Here's a vid that will make you all feel better about the real state of the union!

Learning to read is what freed the slaves...no doubt.  Including the ones who came before where the only access to the Bible was in a church.  Slavery has been the goal of certain men since the beginning of time.

Please do remember that people of all color were slaves on our soil...the Constitution freed us all!  Once we learned what it contained...I'm happy to say that more & more people are finding it again!  It can save us.

Wow, that is really an eye opener, Joy.  Thanks for posting this.  Those people are making a lot of sense, and I applaud their honesty.  I would say they have it figured out more than the average American.  This video gives a person a glimmer of hope.....they have him figured out and they are on to him.  I just picked out some random comments:

- Just go ahead and step down, Mr President....just quit.  If this is what you call helping us, then stop helping us!

- It's OUR job to hold the government accountable to Constitutional values!

- A bunch of "feel good" rhetoric to give faith to a dying economy.

-Nepotism and cronyism!

- Low expectations - he's been more hurtful to the Black race than he has been helpful.

- The President's approach is to always place blame on the corporate world....the 1%.  The blame in America is equal!

- Increasing the minimum wage is not going to create jobs and it's not going to fix the economy.  We need corporations and businesses....they are the ones who create jobs.  This minimum wage hike is not going to create a job for me and it's not going to help the economy.

These comments come from average Americans who have figured it out and are unafraid to say it.  In a way, it made me proud.

Sure makes ya wonder if all the 'division' is just 'hype'...created to divide.  It creates an air of dis-trust among the people, it lights the fire of hatred & spreads the feeling of hopelessness.
I still have hope!

Yes, and nearly all true conservatives aren't proponents for gay marriage......

I admit that I'm having a real hard time understanding the gay marriage thing.   The  ONLY reason it seems to matter is due to tax purposes...that's what I'm trying to wrap my head around.  We are being so played!  Most of us are simply trying to live our own lives...we not only understand, we support much of the gay right issues...what irks us is the government intervention, the reasoning behind the 'need' for tax write offs when the real truth is that NONE of us should be under the thumb of the fed like we are...just another 'divide'.  WHY are at each others throat over most of these issues???   Money, baby.

Things like gay marriage are a threat to conservatives on election day.  It's only a matter of time until gay marriage becomes the law of the land, but I believe this ought to be a matter that is determined by the states.  It's here to stay.  Debates on gay marriage shift the focus away from matters that pose a threat to our freedom and the Constitution.  It sucks the air out of the room, basically. Along with the "war on women" and race baiting, this is exactly what the progressives want.
