What feed to you have her on?
Exactly!!! Just thinking this and I know where this is going. Few years back I had THREE horses get mild colic on the SAME DAY. Now I probably know why. |

| I have fed everything that I can get my hands on locally and Prime Glo is by far the best feed for my mares. They look amazing and have never performed better... I really don't think her feed had anything to do with her colic episode as there were so many other factors that could have attributed to it that day. Heat, weather change, stress, etc. |

Please do yourself and your horses a favor, search and read the thread about ionophore free feeds. You could not pay me to feed ADM to a horse at this point. Please read the thread, do some research, and please pull that feed from your horses. Not bashing at all, just letting you know about all the information out there and ADM is going to tell you otherwise but the feed is NOT safe. I hope your horse is okay. |

Location: Back Creek Valley!!! | I have one that colics with the temp change. Doc said it could be weather or ulcers. After a few small episiodes I treated him for ulcers, just in case and put him on succeed. Alls been well so far so good. Fingers crossed. What else can you do for the temp change colic.?
Thanks |

Location: Florida.. | The biggest issues are usually lack of fluids.. so Id add water to everything, add electrolytes and or gatorade, warm water up if its freezing. I also like to give a warm soaked soupy beet pulp once a day to get fluid to them as well. water water water is so important.. |

The irony in all of this is that what we are seeing with horses that have been exposed to contaminated feed have depleted electrolytes and malabsorption issues. That's why they're drawn up and look like they have ulcers. |

| I got through about 1/16th of that thread and don't have time to read it all now. SO what is a safe feed? |

| There is another thread that lists them, let me see if I can find it. There are several pages but not as long as the other thread:
