I worked at the track, so I can throw on a good polo faster than I can velcro on a boot!
You just have to make sure they are done right, use electrical tape around the top on the velcro, and you've got just as much protection as a boot will offer, and a better fit for all of your horses! It's like a custom fit boot each time, I think they find them more comfortable than boots.

Can you please make a YouTube video showing how you wrap? I want to know how to do it right!

Remember too that some polos are thicker (consequently more costly but worth it) than others just like our own socks.

cn1705 - 2016-08-05 10:45 PM I personally run in polos. I do tape the Velcro if the polos are a little older. I have not found a boot I've ever loved. Maybe the newer boots these days fit better, but I'm sticking to polos. I feel polos give a more consistent, conforming wrap and provide more stability. Boots I do think protect better if there was a blunt trauma to the leg, so from that aspect boots may be a little safer for that situation. Overall boots and polos are useless unless applied properly.People tend to have strong opinions on which they prefer, I think do what your horse is most comfortable in. :)

I agree. If I'm in a shifty/not ideal ground situation I will throw some boots on but typically I run in Polo's and tape the velcro just in case. I love them!

There's lots of youtube videos out there that probably explain it better than me! But if need be I can do a polo video the way racetrack professionals taught me!

I've seen various ways of wrapping shown on YouTube, but not sure if they are correct. Also, I've always wondered how polo players wrap because I see a little flap of material peeking out the top. If you did an instructional video that would be awesome :) I trust racehorse people have to do it correctly for safety reasons.

This is basically how I do my polo's... hers look a touch messy for my liking, however.

Thank you! :)

EXCEPT I didn't notice she only wrapped the fetlock once, I've always been taught to wrap it twice!!!! Prevents any soreness if your horse tends to "run down" (fetlock gets a burn/sore from flexing and hitting the ground). May also provide a bit more support to the joint, you decide!

Just ran out and did a quick little video myself, haha.

My narration isn't the best, but you get the idea!
