I have not found a boot I've ever loved. Maybe the newer boots these days fit better, but I'm sticking to polos. I feel polos give a more consistent, conforming wrap and provide more stability. Boots I do think protect better if there was a blunt trauma to the leg, so from that aspect boots may be a little safer for that situation. Overall boots and polos are useless unless applied properly.People tend to have strong opinions on which they prefer, I think do what your horse is most comfortable in. :) I agree. If I'm in a shifty/not ideal ground situation I will throw some boots on but typically I run in Polo's and tape the velcro just in case. I love them!

Prevents any soreness if your horse tends to "run down" (fetlock gets a burn/sore from flexing and hitting the ground). May also provide a bit more support to the joint, you decide!
