| I love Purina. I would suggest that ask at your feed store who is the Purina rep for your area. They are great about meeting up with you (I had one come to my place and look at my horses to discuss their needs) and coming up with a plan. They looked the horses over for overall body score and we went from there. |

Thanks everyone for the replies! I called and spoke with Purina yesterday to narrow down my choices. I had mostly decided on the Ultium Gastric but my feed store sells it for $29...so needless to say, im going to have to try a cheaper option. My second choice was the Strategy line - still kind of trying to decide between the Healthy Edge and the GX. They both have the Outlast which is great. It looks like the GX is designed to cover all stages of horses but that doesnt appeal to me because I have two horses with the same job, so I'm thinking the Healthy Edge might be the way to go here. Seems to have good reviews based on the replies here. * I wanted to add that I looked at the Omolene feeds but they only seem to come in textured and my horses tend to like pelleted better it seems. So I've narrowed down my choices based on that as well.
These 3 are on the Healthy Edge. This was during the summer when they were each getting about 3 handfuls a day.    |

| I've heard a lot of good things about the Omolene 200. I've never fed the omolene line personally, but I know plenty that do and are very happy with it. |

| Does anyone feed the regular strategy? I kind of feel like the Healthy Edge and the Sr. Active are making my horse too pudgy... he barely gets 4lbs a day right now and I feel like I'm short changing him on nutrition by not feeding near the recommended amounts.. even with plenty of exercise. This horse has proved to be a very very easy keeper. I'm stepping up his exercise program but with the weather here it's tough to stay consistent, I'll get 3 to 4 days on then 3-4 off because of rain. I thought maybe switching over to the regular strategy might be something to try. |

Location: Slipping down the slope of old age. Boo hoo. | Yes, I have fed the regular Strategy. It is a very good feed. My horses looked great -- would not hesitate to feed it again. Currently only have two horses -- one is a pasture ornament and the other is only lightly ridden. Both get Purina Enrich Plus balancer and look great. I have excellent pastures and hay so no need for anything other than a balancer. |

| Unless it's changed....... the omelene 200 used to be around 40 NSC so one of the highest sugar content feeds. Has it changed? |

I have never tried the enrich plus. I have tried about every other RB out there and I just didnt like it... I dont have good pasture, especially right now, its dormant. My hay is so-so average I'd say... it varies from cuttings... I usually get 100 one cutting and then another 200 another cutting. I always end up having to add something to any RB I've tried in the past.. I'm kinda on the fence if I should try the enrich or just go with regular strategy without all the added fat. The regular strategy has the outlast in it too. |

No idea.. I've never fed it so I dont spend much time researching it. I just know the people that do, seem to really swear by it. |

I did the 60 day challenge with my mare and strategy made her fat! I was feeding the minimum so that she would get the benefit of the outlast but it was still too much grain. I don’t have pasture but our hay is excellent and she’s a little cow pony lol. So I switched her to enrich and add the outlast. I’ve been very happy with this combo for her. |

I'd go with regular Strategy. |

Location: Georgia | Just an update - I went with the Strategy Healthy Edge. My horses are very easy keepers so they dont get a whole lot of grain. The Purina rep that I spoke with told me that if I'm not feeding 4 lbs a feeding that I would need to supplement some Outlast into their feed to be sure they are getting the full recommended dose. Just FYI for anyone in the same situation. Just want to say thanks to all that replied! |

| I keep a bag of the outlast in my feedroom to give them a serving before I ride or haul them anywhere, i usually dont add any to their regular feedings. I don't think the sr active even has the outlast in it |
