Has anyone fed it as a complete feed? We have one horse that is allergic to hay and right now we feed Omolene 400 and some supplements.

Had a 9 yr. old barrel horse on it for 4 months and horse looked like crap and was not performing as well as before. Horse had no energy.
Went back to feeding ADM Senior Glo and 1 pound ADM Mor Glo.
Horse is back to running 1 D times and looks great.

This is my second, follow up post on this feed.....I switched my 35 yr. old mare to it about 4 weeks ago and I can already see a difference...I was real worried about her when she went off her feed and acted lethargic for several days, so that's why I switched....like I said before, I do mix it with a 10% fat oat mix (also new to her).....I took a before picture, and I'll try to get an after picture on Sat. when the weather is warmer....

I don't think it's the be all of feed and every horse is different...this just happened to work for her, at least for the time being.....my other horses do fine on their regular feed and don't get this...

tThompson - 2013-12-10 2:12 PM  Does anyone use this feed? What can you tell me about it?  I've done some research and am thinkin about trying it.  Thanks!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I feed 5 horses Total Equine - have been on it about 6 months - they all look great - youngest horse is 6 and oldest is 37 years old - I'm attaching a pic of my old horse after 3 months on the feed and then one of my barrel horses
I feed most of the horses 1/2 or 3/4 a scp 2x daily (3 qt scp) - the old horses get 2 scps 2x daily  - They dont get a belly with this feed - it fuels the muscles
I have a horse that has been turned out 2 months and he looks like he is legged up as he is muscled with no belly on this feed vs the strategy he always looked a little fat.
We have an easy keeper on it and two horses with metabolic issues. I wouldn't feed it to a hard keeper or a colt, they dont seem to keep weight in the right places. They look good for a few months on it then seem to look average.
I'd like opinions too! I'm thinking about switching mine to TE from the mill mix they are currently on....I'm normally leery of bagged feeds because it seems like most of them are full of fillers and you just pay for the brand. But i like the idea of it being forage based because mine rarely get out on pasture:( I feed a nice grass hay so i like the high protein since mine doesnt have alfalfa. My main concern is the corn as one of the main ingredient...I always thought of it just as a filler. I have a 2 and 3 yr old. Will it help them bloom and fill out? They don't need to be hog fat I just want them healthy and strong...although a little chubby doesnt hurt:) Also will it give them plenty of energy? They are both very laid back naturally...I don't want them hot just to feel good. Sorry for all the questions!!!
I feed it to my 4 year old Futurity Mare. She was really hot, and not focused. After switching her she really settled down and is working and looking better than ever. She is so shiny and slick. If your horse isn't doing good on this stuff, I'd look to see what else might be going on. You still have to feed good hay with it. Hay is very important in a horses diet.
Cant get it on east coast, but i think the thing you have to do with that feed is give 10/12 pounds of good hay. I gone to a forage based feed and had to,tweak it a small amount. My horses are calmer, cribbing has stopped, as wood chewing and some stall walking. We will see when horses shed out, my horses look a little worse as i did not blanket this winter. We will see when show time comes.
We bought 400 # of it and couldn't get any of our three horses to eat it....They would walk away.....Finally had to buy "sweet" feed to mix with it to get rid of it. Additionally, when you are comparing price, be sure to remember that it comes in FORTY pound bags.
I came back looking at this thread. We were carrying it up here and can't seem to give it away. I like what it has done for our horses, however we just got notice the delivery price has gone up regardless on how much we order. Are people still paying $17 - $20 a bag?
I quit feeding it when the cost kept going up everytime I went after a bag. I liked it ok, but it wasn't the next best thing. It worked on some. It didn't have the protein/fat ratio I wanted.
I've got 30 yr old Teehaha on it and she is doing great.  One thing I noticed is that her poop is normal road apples for the first time in alot of years.
 Basically because of the price increase/delivery charge its going up $2.00 per bag which is now going to be $25. They will be losing more dealers on the East Coast which is many to begin with.
