chicks2 - 2016-08-29 8:11 PM I don't think the NFR is going to be impacted at all. TyE - 2016-08-27 10:50 PM Well that would explain the standings.  So, they would have to close the ERA or sellout before they can re join the PRCA?

Wow, wonder if they were planning on that when they thought up this ERA gig?
I am out of the loop... How is the ERA doing?

The ERA has not been able to develop a follwing, stands are empty, big names are jumping ship.  Rumor has it that the PBR is buying ERA.
Wow, that is interesting.  I would imagine that it might be kinda embarassing "having" to go back to the organization that you were actually slamming, so that you could start your own.  Unless they don't go back to the PRCA....
PBR is Professional Bull Riders.

What the heck would they want with the ERA?

The PBR is pretty successful and the ERA was a good idea, just so poorly executed. It wouldn't surprise me if the PBR bought the ERA out. I think if that happened, the ERA stands a good chance to be successful.
It would be pretty "convenient" if the PBR bought them out. They could then return to competing in PRCA rodeos because they no longer have a share in the ERA, but would still have the ERA also. I'm sure they are going to have to eat a lot of crow no matter what....
If they still leave the current ERA board intact, after the PBR 'buys it', I think some of them like Trevor would still not be allowed at PRCA events I think?
If that actually happened let's hope the ERA likes Brazilians because they are on the brink of taking over the PBR.  I can hardly stand to watch anymore.

did you watch the pbr documentary thing on netflix? The Brazilians feel like they aren't treated the same as others...

I haven't see that, I don't have netflix. What are they complaining about? Just from watching on TV looks to me like they get to take as long as they want to get out of the chute and are scored a little higher than the US cowboys.

They are destroying the PBR bulls by taking so long in the chute, taking the heart out of them........if you pull your rope tight enough and sit there jacking around long enough they will refuse to buck to their full potential.  A great little bull named Stone Sober was set to be bucking bull of the year.  Enough Brazilians drew him he's not even in the draw anymore.

Adding:  if they don't like it they are perfectly welcome to go home.

Really tired of the race card whining. If they weren't making more money here than at home, they wouldn't be here, so I don't know what they are crying about. GO HOME if it is so bad here!!!!!

 Agree

I don't think the PRCA rodeo's will be affected at all either.   Really most fans are going on a certain night regardless of who is entered.  AND how do you even find that information out when there could be turn outs and other reasons?   I love the sport been around it my entire life. I remember going to the NFR as a kid in OKC,  BUT I don't think it will ever be mainstream like other sports and contestants will always have to pay their own way.  Maybe the ERA thought a little too much of themselves...??...went about it the wrong way...???  Most people love an underdog while at the same time rooting for the current champion.    I would imagine that there is only so much money to go around to support rodeo and the fans pockets are probaly not to deep, at least mine aren't.

It hard for anybody to move to a new country. Our country is not any different. You have to learn the new norms and culture to fit in. If you don't want to fit in and want to change the new country to fit yourself - GO HOME! We value our norms and culture as much as any other country. Why are we expected to change in our own country? If I move to another country, I would realize I would have to assimulate (?) to their ways. That is why I don't move to Mexico or any other country, I love MY country.

Amazing how many of the Brazilians who plan to be here for years riding bulls don't take the time to learn our language.  I can remember one of them booking a flight, he thought, to Boise, Idaho and somehow ended up in Florida.  It's important to learn the language of the country you choose to make a living in.

One of the wives said she signed up for a class but couldn't catch on so she just reads people and says yes or no. It would be very hard.

That is one reason why I don't go to Mexico or South America- I failed Spanish in school and , frankly have no desire to learn it. If you don't want to learn a country's language, don't whine about not understanding what is going on around you. They sure know enough to enter, order food and buy stuff over here. I know a lot of Mexicans over here will say No Habla English, when they durn sure do. I live in South Texas and we have a construction company and ranch and I here this all the time. They sure get mad when you tell them you No Habla Spanish. They sure understand English when they file for unemployment, food stamps, welfare, etc.!
Sorry, I will step off my soap box now.

brlracerchick - 2016-08-30 9:40 AM That documentary wasn't what I expected for sure. They also talked about the time limit,  what Brazil is like, how hard it has been to fit in with life here, etc.
