Well Feb 1st I fractured my back, then 2 weeks later our 7 year old gelding fractured his hip He is confined to a stall for a long time in hopes he will heal.

My question is: is their a supplement or treatment anyone can reccomend to feed my gelding to help him heal?

Would like to hear from everybody about their experiences.

Thanks for any help..

my gelding took a bad fall Jan 2013 and fractured his pelvis/L point of hip. he was on stall rest till may and then started light turnout. I was given CALDENSITY black label from the vet to give the initial 60 days it was suppose to help the bone healing. not really sure if it worked or not. mu gelding got pretty bad muscle atrophy and looking from the back end he's much lower on his left side than the right. it has basically just taken TIME!! he started staying outside 24/7 in July and I started riding him some over winter and now have him back running. he is a little "off" looking at a trot but he doesn't seem to hurt. he was a 1d horse when he got hurt and with 2 runs back just cruising he has been mid 2d so I think he will come back at least solid 2d. this is a horse the vet suggested to probably be put down 1 yr ago. I refused and very thankful I did.
