Is it alright to use a tie down when running in a Simplicity? Or will it impede the function of the bit? Keep in mind, I don't use a curb chain/chin strap with it, if that would make a difference. I know it's probably a dumb question, but I would like input :)

I think as long as your horses head isn't cranked down you should be fine. I was considering using the same get up on my older mare. She was put in a tie down as a young horse be her previous owner and is now sloppy without one. I think she balances on it unfortunately but she is incredibly light mouthed so I was recommended to use the simplicity without a curb.

I ran two horses in a simplicity and a tiedown. It was fine! I won a lot on my gelding who used a head setter tiedown and a simplicity with a curb chain. that was his get up.
