We have a 14 yr old stud that was injured
(hind right
) playing in the pasture. Never could find out exactly what he did to himself. He is sound for light riding, like trail riding, doesn't hold up for cutting very long before coming up sore. Quiet enough our young daughters ride him, in a controlled atmosphere. He has very few foals on the ground but what he has are nice, versatile, easy to start colts.
He is cutting bred, only a couple big names third generation out, mom was a limited NCHA earner.
We are headed in a slightly different direction and are considering selling but haven't a clue what to price him at.
I tried to keep this as vague as I could in hopes of not having it deleted.

If I understand correctly, the big names are third generation? So forth for any foals. Hes unproven in the show ring, and not sound.
Honistly and im sorry if this is blunt. Not a whole lot, theres a TON of nice cutting breed colts out there for pretty cheep right now.
You'd probly has Bette luck gelding him and selling as a light riding trail / buddy horse.
Im sorry probly not what you wanted to here.

I would have to agree and I think you would have better luck selling him as a gelding.

I figured gelding would be the best option for him. It's my husband that you have to convince LOL If we gelded, we might as well keep him for our daughters. But my husband feels he's the best and has produced the best colts he's ever rode
(and he's rode a few
) so he has a hard time wanting to.
