Our local legend, saddle maker. He supplied some of the top ropers, like T. Brazille, with saddles. He was 87. We went in his shop as kids, used to be downtown and later he moved his building a little further South, but it always had that familiar horse out front. A cowboy that everyone loved, he was especially proud of being George Strait's best buddy. His shop is full of photos of famous people, not limited to the rodeo world. Everyone loved him and he loved to visit. I imagine most around here have already heard of his passing but I wanted to post this for others that may have had the pleasure of his company.

RIP Mr Council.
I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but know his unequaled reputation as a saddlemaker.
