So back in mid November I started having pain in my lower abdomen, near my right hip bone. Not awful, just enough to annoy me. On December 3rd it was pretty painful and I was worried that I was having an eptopic pregnancy, so I went to the dr. The Dr did 2 urine pregnancy tests and they both barely had a line. She didn't have an ultrasound machine in her office and they sent me to the hospital for an emergency ultrasound because she was also worried that it was an Eptopic pregnancy, but told me it could be an ovarian cyst since I also have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
Apparently the hospital was weird about giving my results to my Dr and I didn't get them until a day later. I was told that it wasn't a tubal pregnancy but a ovarian cyst and there was nothing they could do for it, and that that could possibly be why I had that slight positive on the test. BUT I noticed on the ultrasound screen that there was a tab that said "Yolk Sac".. Which would mean an early pregnancy, right? I've had ovarian cysts before, however not one this bad and I've never had a positive pregnancy test. Hubby and I have been trying for a while and Lord knows how many pregnancy tests I've taken.
Well.. it's the 14th and I still haven't had Aunt Flow since October. I'm normally not regular but not normally this late either. I don't feel right either. My chest hurts, I'm having night sweats and all I want to do is sleep. I took another test tonight and BAM it was positive. Of course, the directions even say that a cyst can cause a false positive.
Have any of y'all ever been through this? I want to be excited but I'm too scared to get my hopes up.

Either go back to your regular doctor, or go somewhere with high tech equipment.

My regular doctor is just a family doctor and I don't feel like she is really equipped to deal with what is going on.
I'm trying to find an OB-GYN that can see me this week. I just switched jobs and won't have insurance until the end of January, so of course that's hurting me.

My girlfriend had ovarian cysts that caused extreme pain, night sweats, doubling over pain, she couldn't sleep at night so was constantly tired, lack of appetite.
When she became pregnant with her first, the thing she noticed before the pregnancy test was her boobs hurt, from what I hear this is a common thing with first time moms.
I would get a copy of the original ultrasound and take it to an ob gyn by doc referred me to and get their opinion if that means another ultrasound then I would go for one.
Ectopic pregnancies can be life threatening and it will be much more expensive when the tube ruptures if it is a true ectopic.
