Anyone have a horse develop this on the 3rd eye lid and if so what treatments did you try and what were the results and costs of them.

Thanks for any info.

I had the 3rd eyelid remove from my gelding due to Squamous Cell Carcinoma . What you need to know is that eye will tear up quite a bit especially in the summer months due to fly's. I just use plain old Neosporin in and around the eye. He did have a re-occurrence of cancer and the same doctor wanted to do a 3,500 dollar surgery . I opted to do cryotherapy from and old school vet for a 150 dollars that worked just fine. All of this was over 7 years ago and all is well . To have the 3rd eyelid removed at that
time was 800 dollars .

Thanks. My vet is saying the best odds are freezing the tumor and then radiation theropy done by our university. Silly me forgot to ask him ball park pricing on that. But I do have an email into him. He himself could remove the 3rd eyelid but said sometimes that just ****es off the tumor and you get faster regrowth. So looking for any experiences of anything that has been done. so thanks again for sharing yours.

Recently had this done on a 28 year old gelding.  The tumor was removed and opthalmic chemo drops were used.  The tumor has not returned.
