I have a mare that hasn't been rode for about a month or so with all of this rain we have been getting. I have been ponying her of another horse for the last 2 weeks off and on because she had a small cut on her leg. Anyway last night I decided to ride since the arena was worked up. She warmed up great did everything I asked her just like normal. I trotted her threw the pattern and when I came back around to lope her she kind of scotched on me and threw her head up going around first and then finished the pattern great. Something felt off but couldn't pin point it. I stood at the top of the arena just talking to my SO and she pushed my right leg out of the way and starting biting at the cinch. It was not tight but something was bothering her there. She is a tough horse so for her to show something it usually means something is really bothering her.
Where would you start looking for the problem? I need to get her teeth checked. But the biting at the cinch would you think ulcers, ribs, saddle fit
(been riding this saddle on her for over 2 years
) or would you look somewhere else?? Will be getting her into the vet ASAP but kind of wanted to see if anyone has dealt with anything similar???

One time, I'd say flies or being out of shape and out of sorts.
