Who's had it done? Was it worth it? Good results? What did it cost you and who did it?

We had it done to one of our horses years ago. It was absolutely worth it. The horse turned out to be a pretty decent barrel horse and didn't have any further issues respiratory wise. He did still make that same noise.  I know it was done in Versailles, KY. I'm not sure who the vet was or any of the details, I just remember when he had it done and that it worked.

Had to have my horse done, there was no choice. Flapper was totally paralyzed on one side.  K-State did the first one (it didn't work, and cost a fortune)
Dr. Stites in Sallisaw did the 2nd surgery, he did a great job, and was a 1/3rd of the price that K-State was.

Just had mine done a few weeks ago.  Instead of doing the tie back they cauterized his vocal cord on the side that
was weak.  Really opened his airway. They said the tie back never lasts.  This way no matter what the eritnoid does
he will have plenty of airway.
Cost me $250.  MSU did mine.  We go back next week for a check up.  Hasn't seemed to bother him at all.
They said he would sound different but he doesn't .
It will be awhile before he runs again.  We were there for other issues and they just happened to find this problem.
